The Pate Swap Meet now located at the Texas Motor Speedway (3545 Lone Star Cir, Fort Worth, TX 76177), started out as the South Central Swap Meet in 1972 when several car clubs in Texas decided that it was too much to keep going all the way up to Pennsylvania to Hershey when we could have a swap meet here in Texas. Among the starting members were Dr. Aggie Pate, Russ Gruenwald, Barney Calvert and others from the Gulf Coast Region AACA, car club in Houston.

Just think that from a humble 350 vendors and 500 spaces to now 1200 vendors and 9700 spaces in just 51 years is quite an accomplishment. We have increased out vendor spaces every year we have had the swap meet. We started out with just 4 car clubs putting on the meet to now 14 clubs of volunteers to keep this running. We have only missed one year since starting and that was 2020 and we all know what caused that.

I have had a great time every year that I have been. This year will be my 13th year there. Awesome restaurants close by, great bath \nhouses, the friendliest vendors ever, and what a variety. One thing that was kind of a downer this past year. Spectators need more sit down down areas in each of the zones.

4/27/23 $10 to park, entry still free I had a Blast thanks to the scooter I rented $90 4 the whole day without it I would have gotten tired, hungry and mad bc I didn't get to see it ALL. Trust me it took the Whole day to almost see it ALL and on a Mobility scooter. SHAME ON TMS 4 not providing sitting area's around the event . I spoke with sum that were leaving said they got tired due to no rest area's between sections, plenty of rest rooms but not a single place to sit a bit. Just walk, walk, walk. So come prepared.

The hardest thing about Pate is remembering where I bought that at and for me I want to cover all I can on Thursday so I don't miss a good deal because when it is gone it is gone. Big thank you for the parts carriers this year for delivering our projects to our vehicles not just to the entrance. That was a great idea and it helps alot!!!!
